The brand doesn’t matter in this situation of what is compatible. All camera’s will work with any printer, because it just uses USB or the Memory cards if the printer has those features. Other than that photos are usually uploaded to a computer and printed from there.
Now if you want advice on which camera to buy, if your a beginner definitely check out Canon’s Rebel’s XS or Nikon’s D60. These are great for starters to intermediate photographers. They range between 449.99 to 599.99 and come with a lens as well. Its cheaper to buy online as well…

Personally, I prefer Canon.
But both are excellent brands.

I prefer Nikon mainly because it is the industry standard. However, both brands will almost do the same thing. Maybe go to CNET and compare two brands you are thinking of. Or moe importantly, ask your teacher. If he prefers a brand he may know more about that brand and it’s interface and can teach you more about that brand of camera. That seems very beneficial as well.
Good luck … lots of fun!

Go to store… stand in front of camera display. Close yes. Wave arm in wild circles hollering “eenie meenie minie moe”. Stop arm at this point. Take camera that is closest to arm.
If that won’t work for you, then get blindfolded and led to the camera stand. Handle each camera, finding the one that fits your hand the best. Then take off blindfold and buy camera.
Anything you pick up will work. The name on the camera is pretty much irrelevant at this point in your photographic career, regardless of the rabid fan base for each brand. They all take pictures, and not even the fan boys can tell you which camera did which after you print the shot.
